A Storied Past, A Timeless Experience

Located in Black Mountain, NC, just 20 minutes from the city of Asheville, IntheOaks is a masterpiece of Tudor Revival architecture. Originally built in the 1920s for Franklin Silas Terry and designed by renowned architect Frank E. Wallis, this magnificent estate was once surrounded by meticulously landscaped gardens and exudes old-world charm and grandeur. Phase one of the renovation process will restore portions of the estate to its former glory and allow the estate to be used to host unforgettable events and parties like it once did.

The estate’s rich history includes its service as a retreat for literary scholars and prominent historical figures like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who stayed at IntheOaks in January 1964 for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference

As renovations continue, we look forward to opening our doors as a fully restored event venue, blending historical elegance with modern convenience.
